My Interior Continuum - History & Determination Part 1 (Paternal Side)

La Rosa Chesterfield-inspired conservatory interior with lush greenery, aged wood, floral textiles, and candlelight — a mood board by The Interior Continuum

This is my interior continuum.

A soft and personal exploration into the spaces that live inside of me. The rooms I create are often less about trends and more about atmosphere, memory, family history, texture, emotion, and the strange comfort of spaces that feel deeply lived in.

Much of this work is inspired by my Czechslovakian and French immigrant family roots in New Orleans, where generations of my family worked the shipping yards and boat docks along the river. I still visit for family reunions, where our family tree quite literally wraps around an entire room. There is something incredibly grounding about returning there. The air feels heavy with stories.

I think about the hot streets in summer, the ironwork and cracked shutters, the spanish moss swaying overhead, little geckos clinging to warm walls, and the feeling of wandering into dim antique shops filled with dusty paintings, velvet chairs, chandeliers, forgotten portraits, and strange little treasures waiting to be loved again. There is beauty everywhere there. Not polished beauty. Collected beauty. Human beauty.

This design became my way of translating that feeling into a space through lush conservatory light, aged wood, layered greenery, floral textiles, candlelight, afternoon tea details, and a touch of gothic romance that feels intimate instead of theatrical. Cozy instead of perfect.

The Interior Continuum is where I let all of those pieces meet each other. A place for memory, texture, history, softness, eccentricity, and storytelling to exist together in one room.

Thank you for being here and wandering through these spaces with me. 🖤🌿
