YAAAAAY! I created this mood board last night as a way of dipping my toe back into the interior design world. As with many of us that give our careers our entire heart & soul, I burned myself out trying to maintain a workflow that was not healthy. Unrealistic demands from corporate heads that didn't understand what truly beautiful design creations require .. time to think about ALL of the layout possibilities, the ability to focus on the entire concept and a single item at the same time, the brain power required to manage all of the little and big details, patience to LISTEN AND HEAR your client when they request changes. The fast-paced, money-driven, greedy, thoughtless companies that I worked for prioritized cashing in and making us design robots in the end. And it didn't just happen once. It destroyed me.
So I needed to step away for a while. Explore other passions.. other ideas.. take time to heal.
all just to come back here.
my first love: design.
the sad truth: i realized that there are cruel people in every industry. it's not that i stopped loving design, it's that my heart was betrayed and taken advantage of by total doodie heads. i can't allow them to dull my sparkle any longer.
