Birch & Root | Vintage Ceramic Baby Deer Figurines

I like to imagine Birch & Root once belonged to a chocolatier whose tiny workshop always smelled of warm vanilla, toasted hazelnuts, and melted sugar.

Long before they found their way here, they watched delicate confections become tiny works of art. Sugar flowers were placed one petal at a time. Chocolate ribbons curled impossibly thin. Every detail mattered, because beautiful things deserved patient hands.

I like to think they spent decades perched safely behind a glass cabinet, quietly observing countless celebrations from their little shelf. Weddings. Birthdays. Holidays. Ordinary Tuesdays that became memorable simply because someone decided they were worth celebrating.

At some point along the way, Birch suffered a small accident that left her with a repaired back leg. It's a chapter we don't dwell on. If anything, it reminds me how deeply someone must have cared to repair something so impossibly small instead of letting her disappear.

Together, they've made it through more than half a century with remarkably little wear. They're incredibly delicate and happiest somewhere they can simply exist without being handled often.

They aren't looking for someone to display them perfectly.

They're hoping for someone whose first instinct is to reach for fragile things with both hands. 🥹🤲🏼
