My Grand Pursuit | One-of-a-Kind Altered Book Art

The Grand Pursuit is a one-of-a-kind altered book sculpture exploring curiosity, wonder, and the lifelong search for meaning.

Created from a previously loved book and layered with collected imagery from vintage books, magazines, and paper ephemera, the composition brings together anatomy, astronomy, natural history, memory, and human connection. A carved heart-shaped chamber rests at its center, surrounded by fragments of observation, discovery, and imagination.

Each image was selected and arranged by hand, allowing the narrative to emerge gradually over time. No template was used. No duplicate will ever exist.

Part sculpture, part curiosity cabinet, and part hidden keepsake box, The Grand Pursuit invites its owner to discover new details with every encounter.

Creation Process

Every piece in The Curio Library begins with a rescued book.

The pages are carved by hand, sealed in layers, and allowed time to cure before the collage process begins. Vintage imagery is gathered from old books, magazines, illustrations, and ephemera, then arranged and rearranged until a visual narrative reveals itself.

Some stories arrive quickly. Others require weeks of searching for the right image, color, or fragment to complete the composition.

When finished, each sculpture is sealed, signed, and prepared for its next chapter.

Display & Use

Designed for bookshelves, writing desks, library walls, curiosities cabinets, and collected interiors.

The hidden compartment can hold letters, photographs, jewelry, keepsakes, small treasures, or remain empty as part of the sculpture itself.
